This is my first time blogging at worship.com, although I'm a regular reader. I greatly appreciate what Josh and others are seeking to do on this blog. Great resources and tools, all for the purpose of exalting our matchless Savior.
In any case, I thought this news was too good to pass up. Earlier this week I was sitting in my office and I received an email from Pat Ennis, the executive director of Sovereign Grace Ministries, led by C.J. Mahaney, and the ministry I serve with. The e-mail was brief and to the point. Pat wanted to reduce the price of all our CDs to $6 and offer free domestic shipping. For a full month. He also says to come by his office if I want to appeal his plan. So I stop by and appeal that maybe we should consider $7. Nope. Not enough of a reduction in price.
The bottom line is this. From February 1 through February 29, Sovereign Grace will be selling all our CDs for six dollars. With free shipping. In addition, we’ll be selling our Pursuit of Godliness books for five dollars, also with free shipping. Of course you can download the CDs and not worry about shipping (great idea if you’re outside the U.S.).
That means that for the month of February you can buy Valley of Vision, In a Little While, Savior, Worship God Live, Songs for the Cross Centered Life, and every other Sovereign Grace produced CD for just six dollars. CD or download. As many as you want or can give away. In addition, we’ll be selling our two-volume songbook, with over 250 songs, for $40. And that’s not all (suddenly I feel like a Ronco knives infomercial). During February all our piano scores can be downloaded for $1. Full sets will only be $6.
Why are we doing this? A few reasons. The primary mission of Sovereign Grace Ministries is to serve Sovereign Grace pastors who are giving their lives to build Gospel-centered local churches. We want to do everything we can to help them serve the people they lead. Providing Christ-exalting, biblically faithful music and books in one of the ways we can do that. We also want to make it as easy as possible for other churches and individuals to have access to what we produce. We figured that lowering the price of everything we’ve done is a step in that direction. And like all those who post on this blog, we want to do all we can to promote and encourage God-glorifying, Gospel-centered, Spirit-empowered living.
Basically, it makes us happy to get our materials out for the lowest price possible. That’s why we decided last August to give away all our messages.
So mark your calendar (or whatever you keep your schedule on). February 2008. All our CDs, six bucks. All our Pursuit of Godliness books, five bucks. Did I mention free shipping in the U.S.?
Don’t wait on this because these prices are only while the supplies last (and yes, we do have more than ten CDs in stock).
And feel free to help us spread the word.
