About Worship.com

Our Mission

Worship.com exists to glorify God, inviting people to pursue God wholeheartedly and in so doing mature into lifestyles that are in themselves a living sacrifice and which reflect God-worship as a way of life.

Our mission is to connect next-generation pastors, church leaders, church planters, worship leaders, and worshipers with foundational, biblical, gospel-centered, theologically-rich resources that will help them learn biblical perspectives about God and themselves, mature in the faith, and develop lifestyles that exemplify a living sacrifice whereby all spheres of life reflect an act of ongoing, daily worship; lifestyles that include being a baptized member of a Bible-teaching, God-exalting, evangelical local church, through which they identify and utilize their gifts, talents and abilities to engage the culture via contemporary, progressive, Biblical ministry.

How We Got Here

Passion_screenshotInitially created as a web design firm oriented to serving the emerging needs of ministries, worship.com was birthed in 1996. In 1998 the web design arm of worship.com adopted the name WebMatters New Media, and the site at worship.com transitioned into a destination for Christian  praise and worship, featuring not only music, but extensive links to articles related to both corporate and personal worship authored by leading pastors, theologians, and worship leaders. By the late 1990s the site had grown into a major portal connecting over one million visitors from more than 165 countries all over the world. During this growth period, WebMatters developed and implemented websites for a number of ministries and churches, including a series of groundbreaking sites for a new movement called Passion.

In 2000, a shared love between the leadership at Passion and WebMatters for vibrant, Biblical worship led to a joint venture that integrated worship.com into the Passion fold for a season. For the next five years worship.com reached out to Passion's “268 generation," serving college students and campus pastors with the teaching of Louie Giglio, John Piper, Josh Harris, Beth Moore, Bill Bright, Tim Elmore, Voddie Baucham, Erwin McManus, J.D. Walt, Greg Matte and others, along with the emerging worship music of leaders like Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Charlie Hall, Watermark (Nathan and Christy Nockels), Candi Pearson, Steve Fee, and the Passion Band.

Where We're Going

Worship.com is currently in an interim phase, transitioning back to a standalone entity in order to expand its scope to serve not only the campus community, but also those who have moved beyond college life, making available extensive resources that will include MP3s, training materials, podcasts, articles, book reviews, music, curriculums and commentary from various ministry leaders, seminaries, artists, worship leaders, theologians, bloggers, and authors.

Who's Behind Worship.com

Worship.com is led by its founder, Josh D. Riley, who provides leadership, strategic guidance, and direction for worship.com. His wife Caroline Riley directs day-to-day operations. Together they have consulted for numerous ministries including Passion Conferences, North Point Community Church, First Baptist Church of Atlanta, sixsteps records, Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, OneDay, Dash Student Leadership, Chi Alpha Student Ministries, Tony Nolan, Youth Ministry Resources, Christian Stewardship Network, and others. Also experienced speakers and published authors, they are members of Perimeter Church in Atlanta where they are involved in the church's Intentional Living ministry, through which they help people identify and pursue their God-given purpose, vocation and calling in life. They live in north Atlanta with their son Graham and daughter Delaney.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. --- Romans 12:1-2 ESV
