Thank you Scot for this wonderful insights into worship leading.

I would set #20 as #1. I think this is an area most churches are trapped. Worship, like prayer, is a lifestyle. It's a part of our being. Associating music alone as 'worship' is like singing a song 'off-key'.

Setting the tone that "it's not about the music", would make "setting the base" a natural flow.
