Canadian band Downhere's latest release, Mystified, arrived in our malibox a few weeks ago and we not only listened to it once, we've put it into rotation on the worship.com IPOD. Led by lead singers Marc Martel and Jason Germain, this is the band's third release.
The CD is a mix of anthems, ballads, and pop-rock tunes, and while the words "pop-rock" don't usually tempt us want to listen, we liked what we heard, as this CD delivers a variety of musical styles and themes. The sounds vary, sounding at times like various American eighties pop/rock band, and at others like a contemporary british group. The lyrics are thought provoking and well-written. Though Downhere is not a worship band, their music is of high quality and represents a Christian world view. We think you'll be seeing a lot more of Downhere in the next 12 months. At least we hope so.
